IMPACT on U.S. Electrical Generation
using PES's Clean Renewable Energy RNG
Using 2021 Energy Information Agency (EIA) utility-scale electrical generation data, the impact of PES clean renewable energy RNG to produce electricity can be clearly quantified.
The pie chart on the below left is published 2021 EIA data. On the below right is that same EIA data adjusted by the impact of 74,000 MW capacity from PES clean renewable energy RNG producing 616 Billion kWh of electricity. That is 15% of all utility-scale US Electricity Generated, a whopping amount, and is all added to the Non-Hydro Electric Renewables category while reducing the need for Fossil Fuel (natural gas) generation by 15%.
Per the EIA in 2021, total net generation of electricity from utility-scale generators in the United States was about 4,116 billion kilowatthours (kWh) (or about 4.12 trillion kWh).
